AW12 trend - Peplum and galaxy print

Jeg er så meget i humør til at shoppe efterårsting nu og kan slet ikke vente med at få dem i brug! Nu er den sommer også snart slut, ikke? ;-) Jeg drømmer igen om mørke outfits med masser af sort, pels og læder. Og så drømmer jeg om efterårets helt store trend: peplum. Jeg har allerede shoppet et par peplum toppe, hvilket I vil få at se I et par OOTD's snarest.

Nedestående outfit synes jeg fanger et par trends for AW12, nemlig peplum, galakseprint (som også bliver til SS13), juveltoner, statement smykker og metallic toe caps, som også har været et hit i SS12. Et par af tingene er på vej til mig allerede ;-)

I am so much in the mood for shopping my fall wardrobe now and I cannot wait to get to wear them! Be done with the summer already! ;-) I am, once again, dreaming of dark outfits with lots of black, leather and fur. And then I dream of the big trend of fall: peplum. I have already shopped a few peplum items, which you will see in a few OOTD's as soon as possible.

The below outfit, I think, captures quite a few trends for AW12, peplum, galaxy print (which will also stay for SS13) jeweltones, statement jewelry and metallic toe caps (which we have also seen for SS12). A couple of these items are on their way to me already ;-)

Jeg er så vild med det galakseprint! Det er selvfølgelig nederdelen (og peplum toppen) der er på vej til mig ;-) Krydser fingre for at de passer... Som I kan se er det fra New Looks almindelige linie. Jeg har tabt mig nogle kilo (og forhåbentlig kommer jeg til at tabe flere, men det laver jeg et indlæg om, når jeg er klar) og det betyder at jeg nu kan passe en str. EU46/UK18/US16. Det giver et par muligheder mere, ikke så meget i de danske butikker, som oftest kun går til EU42-44/UK14-16/US12-14, men i de engelske webshops. Flere valgmuligheder er bare skønt!

I am so in loe with that galaxy print! It is of course the pencil skirt (and the peplum top) that is on its way to me ;-) Fingers crossed that they will fit... As you can see they are both from New Look's straight size range. I have lost a few pounds (and will hopefully loose some more, but I will write a post on that when I am ready) and that means that I can now fit in to a size EU46/UK18/US16. That gives mere a few more options, not so much in the Danish shops, which often only goes up to EU42-44/UK14-16/US12-14,, but in the british webshops at least. More options is really great!

OOTD - Copenhagen Fashion Week 1 - Polkadots

Her er dagens fra i torsdags da Rikke og jeg var på CIFF. De er skudt under Bispeeng Buen på efter messen.

Hvad tager man på til en modemesse? En bloggers største dilemma! Man skal selvfølgelig være på forkant og moderigtig og vise sine styling evner så man bedst repræsenterer sin blog's stil når der nu skal netværkes ;-) Så jeg måtte jo vælge et outfit der fanger feminin rock chick bedst muligt. Det synes jeg faktisk lykkedes ret godt (hvis jeg selv skal sige det ;-)). Jeg valgte desuden at udfordre mig selv lidt og gå med en gennemsigtig top, så man kunne se min BH, for ligesom at understrege min statement: jeg er plus size: og hvad så!? Og så har jeg jo virkelig noget med prikker i øjeblikket ;-)

Below is an OOTD from Thursday, where Rikke and I was at the CIFF fashion fair. They are shot after the Fair in another part of town. 

What to wear to a fashion fair? Probably one of a blogger's biggest dilemmas! You of course need to be trendy and fashionable, show off you styling skills and represent the style and feeling of your blog now that there is networking opportunities :-) So I had to choose an outfit that captures feminin rock chick best. I got it just right (if I do say so myself ;-)). In addition I chose to challenge myself a bit and wear a sheer top with only a bra underneath. This was to as much to stress the statement: I am plus size and so what?! And I really have a thing for polkadots at the moment ;-)

CIFF var helt fantastisk! Udover en god snak med Carmakoma, som altid er så søde og imødekommende, så mødte vi også et par andre søde mennesker som laver fedt tøj til plus size. Plus size markedet er meget lille i Danmark pt, eller markedet er faktisk stort, men ikke mange har grebet chancen for at udfylde hullet, dog det ser ud til at der er ved at ske ting og sager og forhåbentlig kan jeg som plus size blogger være med til at synliggøre et behov. Og jeg er altid åben for at blive kontaktet af folk i industrien, der kunne være interesserede i at høre en forbrugers mening.

CIFF was amazing! Besides a good chat with Carmakoma, who are always so nice and interested, we also met a couple of other nice people who makes cool clothes for plus size. The plus size market in Denmark is currently very small, or the market is big, but few has grapped the opportunity to cater for it, but it looks like there might be some things under way. Hopefully I, as a plus size blogger, can help make this need more visible. And I am always happy to be contacted by people in the industry that are interested in hearing a consumer's point of view.

OOTD - Polkadots

Det er jo udsalgstid og det betyder at nogle af de ting man har luret på længe pludselig bliver sat ned til en pris, hvor man ikke længere kan lade være med at trykke køb! ;-) Sådan havde jeg det da jeg i sidste uge så at Carmakoma havde sat denne fine prikkede kjole ned med 70%, haps! Den er i skrivende stund tilbage i alle størrelser, så det er bare med at kigge forbi inden den ryger ;-)

Det er jo egentlig en sommerkjole, men når sommeren ikke just gider at samarbejde, så må man jo style lidt anderledes. Sorte 70 denier strømper er din ven i nøden/kulden.
 
It is sale time and that means that some of the things you have been eyeing for so long is suddenly marked down to a price where you can no longer resist and MUST click "buy"! ;-) That was what I felt last week when I saw that Carmakoma had marked this pretty polkadot dress down by 70%! As I write this it is still available in all the sizes, så hurry up and stop by before it is gone ;-)


It is really a summer dress, but when the summer weather won't cooperate, you will have to style a little different. Black 70 denier tights is your friend in need/the cold.

Jeg ville gerne holde dagens outfit i sort og hvid. Det er længe siden jeg har leget med den monokrome farveskala, men den nye kjole lagde virkelig op til det. Så jeg stylede med sort, sort og mere sort. Kjolen kan både styles meget "ladylike" og lidt mere "rock 'n' roll", jeg hælder jo ofte mod det sidste og derfor valgte jeg rå læder accessories, som nittebæltet fra Asos og det fine nittearmbånd jeg har fået i fødselsdagsgave for nogle år siden af min veninde som jo virkelig kender min kærlighed til nitter ;-). Jeg synes slet ikke at de sorte strømper ødelægger noget heller, de gør egentlig bare at man sagtens kan bruge denne kjole til efterår/vinter også med et par støvler og en læderjakke.

I wanted to keep today's outfit in balck and white. It has been a while since I have played with the monochromatic tones, but this new dress really made that obvious to do. So I styled with blac, black and more black. The dress can be styled very "ladylike" and also a little more "rock'n'roll", I tend to go for the latter and therefore I chose edgy leather accessories, like the studded belt from Asos Curve and the pretty studded leather cuff my friend bought me for my birthday a few years ago (does she know me or what?! ;-)) I don't think the black tights ruin anything, on the contrary they will take this dress into fall/winter as well. Paired with a pair of black boots and a leather jacket.

Jeg tænkte at en rød læbestift ville være prikken (ha, ha) over i'et og det giver faktisk lige det ekstra pop som sort/hvid ofte har brug for. Det kunne også have været et par røde stilletter, et rødt bælte eller en rød taske.

I thought that a red lip would really be the icing on the cake. And it does actually give that extra little pop that an all black and white outfit sometimes need. It could also have been a pair of red heels, a red belt og a red bag.

OOTD - Powerdress

Hi guys,

So I finally wore my new dress from Carmakoma, the "mink" dress. It is very me, black, tailored and with puff sleeves (I cannot resist puff sleeves!). I wore it to work, even though it is a little bit short, but with a pair of 100 den. black thights underneath I was fine.

I did feel a little bit selfconscience at times because of the lenght and the fact that it is quite tight, but I am still very happy with it.

 For a party or a night out I would style this dress with an up-do, dark smokey eyes, red lips and a pair of killer heels. I think I will be wearing this dress a lot this season.

OOTD - Vacation

Here is yet another casual outfit and there will probably be a lot of those over the next couple of weeks as I have vacation and have decided to style down a little and wear little to no make-up.

OOTD - Ruffles

Hi guys,

It is still not the lovely warm summer weather that I would like it to be (especially with my vacation coming up on Friday!) And so no bare legs for me...

I found this cute ruffle dress on sale a couple of weeks ago. It is in a soft thin knit and will also be great for autumn with a pair of nice boots. I love that it is girlie but yet a little more edgy and cool.

It is a straight size xl (uk 16/18 - us 14/16) but I sometimes find that you can be lucky and make straight sizes work, depending on the cut and the fit of the item of course. So give it a try, even though you may think that you will never fit in a size UK 14/16/18 - US 12/14/16, sometimes you will be surprised.

OOTD - Monday in grey and black, with a splash of pink...

Hi guys,

Here is the OOTD for today. I bought the grey 2in1 dress in the Evans sale, I had had my eye on it for a while so when it came on sale I grapped it. When it came, I was actually not really sure if I liked it, but I have ended up wearing it quite a lot. It is so easy to wear and very comfortable.

Here is a little close up of my oversize colourful watch from Swedish Nyåks. The have a whole collection of mix and match watches where you can buy extra rubber bands so you can change it up a little to match you outfit.

And a close up of my favorite earrings at the moment from Danish jewelry designer Julie Sandlau. She is my favorite and I have a massive collection of her pieces. Mostly earings though. I think these are cute but still a little rock/edgy. Love them!
